Big
Sky, having a year-round population of 1,245, is
48 miles from Yellowstone National Park. This beautiful
ski resort was founded in 1973 by NBC broadcaster
Chet Huntley. Lone Peak in Big Sky has a summit elevation
of 11,166 feet. Mountain Village in Big Sky has an
elevation of 7,500 feet; Meadow Village has an elevation
of 6,200 feet.
Big Sky, in accommodating its tourists, has over 25
restaurants, bars and eateries.
